here are recent photos from my vacation (read: spiritual quest) into nyc!
i'm trying to grow as an all around artist-photographer, so where else would i go to get away for the day and emmerse myself in photography??
i'm new to the street photography branch, so please bear with me. these photos are not going to be anything near what henri cartier-bresson did. but this is my first time, and he's one of the best!
please note: these pictures are not "developed" to my liking. all i did was basically convert m raw images to jpegs just to post them fast. i have to go back into the digital darkroom to touch up a few details. i hope you enjoy.

i couldn't leave nyc without buying something from a store on 5th ave ... ok, that sounds like a gay statement. but i bought a $5.90 scarf from h&m. (they have two locations on 5th ave!!)

a shoeshine stand!! how could i not take a picture of this?!

unlike new haven, and everywhere else, squirrels in nyc actually come up to you! this one in particular climbed on my lap. what's funny is that once i pulled out the camera, she fled. we would play a game: i would hide the camera, she'd come to me, then i would have to click fast, because she'd bolt once she'd see the camera!

(*geek alert*)
remember the sceen in empire strikes back when yoda rummages through luke's stuff??

i'm going to try this in black and white and see how it looks.

the american flag was everywhere!

i had no idea where central park was ... i'm not very good with directions. so after i located it (long story there), they had horse-pulled carriages!
