running the new haven road race, and all i get is this t-shirt!!

after a week-long leg injury, i'm curious how i'm going to fair. (am i making an excuse already??)

my nephew's first day of kindergarten was this past thurs, and his uncle was on hand to take a great many pictures of this milestone. not to mentions -- i rode the bus with him and daddy too!!! the wheels on the bus go 'round and 'round -- ok, i'll stop.

Yes, it is here -- the one and only, the most must see moment of the night -- the (most current) JIC Blog Logo!! not done. but here is a "draft," if you will, of the logo ... things to consider: moving the daisy to the left side; making the background NOT black.

Yups, my readers ... ok, my reader (hi, self!!). I updated my blog logo, and this style, this particular logo, took pretty much under a minute to do. It isn't anything to write home about (so why am I posting about it??), but at least it shows some creativity on my part.

Well, here are the two latest possible blog logos for JIC. Only a slight difference between the two.



Maybe I should spend the few bucks, buy a daisy, take a nice colored picture, and use that ... well, for now, just image a super cool daisy photo on the right.

photoshop is amazing

I'm working on Karen's blog logo -- she's the owner of Just in Case Gift Kits and of Bride's Girl Friday (yes, two companies ... not to mention she's a visual at Kohl's, and will be starting p/t work at Traci Romanos, again... I think she knows how to stop time to fit everything in). And, just playing around, here are two possible logos I made through photoshop. The above one I like, because it's simple, says what it needs to, and shows two main staples of JIC: the mini promo kits and the Quick Kits (cheap ad: Quick Kits are $5 each!).



This other one I like, because it's flamboyant, loud and in your face. However, related, it seems busy ... and gerber heavy on the bottom :) (she loves gerber daisies!) Maybe different pictures will help this one ... I'm lazy and just used previous pictures I took throughout the years of working with JIC :)

word of the day: free-time

I called out sick from work today, and was faced with this rare thing called "free-time." After I looked that word up in the dictionary, I drove down to Long Wharf, and just missed the sunrise at its coolest (when it's orange and red). Nevertheless, I was going to make good on this thing called "free-time."
